Funville is a layout designed to show that it is possible to build an exciting layout on an 8 x 4 board as a ‘OO’ gauge railway. The busy layout consisting of a town, fair, farm has 2 main tracks, it also incorporates a racing car circuit. It has been built to be a layout that can be operated by children to encourage and engage them in building layouts at home. It enables younger children to enjoy just running the trains but then has two shunting areas on each track to allow older children to learn the use of points. An overhead, upside down feature hasbeen added which has two main tracks for trains to run, this also can be operated by the public. It has been built out of salvage and second hand bits and pieces, purchased at railway sho ws to again show that layouts can be built on a budget.
