Horsebridge Wharf (EM)

4mm/EM Gauge
Presented by Clive Abbott

Horsebridge Wharf is a fictitious location at the end of a branch line from Plymouth to Callington.  This line was part of the PDSWJR and after passing Calstock Station, the line follows a route along the Tamar River arriving at Horsebridge, to gain access to the upper reaches of the river, for coal and goods to the villages above Horsebridge and to receive stone from the quarries nearby plus passenger traffic to the village.  ERA 1930s.  The stock and locomotives are typical for this line and two locomotives specific to the PDSWJR – “A S Harris” 756 and “Lord St Leven” 758 both being CSP kits.  The layout is all hand-built less a limited edition of an LSWR type 3 signal box.  All points and signals are rod driven from a 13-frame lever group (no interlocking).
