This is a DC driven OO layout specially constructed for the exhibition circuit. It provides two control panels in the front corners for children to drive trains around the two main lines. The usual Thomas and friends’ locos operate on the layout, but we can’t show the locos in this guide for copyright reasons. Toby also makes a regular appearance on the branch line, automatically shuttling in and out of scene.
The layout is set at low height, to make it easier for kids (and their adult ‘helpers’!) to sit at the layout and join in.
The images below show the layout in the later stages of construction. There is now a back scene to hide the rear storage tracks, and the ‘master’ controller in the far corner – which is used by the operators to limit the children’s controllers to at least “safe” speeds!
